You will now see the customer list. A customer can be selected
to view or edit by simply selecting ‘Open’ form the tool strip menu or double
click the Customer in the list.
Multiple customer details can be added using a
simple comma separated values file. The file layout should be as follows:
CustomerName, Manager, Phone, Mobile, Email, Fax, Web, SLA_ID,
GroupID, Notes, Address1, Address2, Address3, Address4, Address5, Custom1,
Custom2, Custom3, Custom4, Custom5, Custom6, Custom7, Custom8, Custom9,
Custom10, Custom11, Custom12, Custom13, Custom14, Custom15, Custom16, Custom17,
Custom18, Custom19, Custom20, ContactName, ContactPhone, ContactMobile,
ContactEmail
It
is possible to add empty records for all the fields above so if you don’t have
data for a field on a particular customer this field can be blank.
Once
the file has been created you are now ready to import your customer details
into SBS.
It
is strongly recommended that you carry out a database back up before importing
new customers to do this select Backup Database from the tools menu option.
Browse to your customer file and select open. All customers in the import file will now be added and available in the Customers Tab.
When you enter text into the filter box, any fields that match
it will cause the entire customer to be shown. For this example I have entered
‘55’, which has been matched ‘Address5’ and ‘Phone’ on customer 000001 whereas
it has only matched ‘Phone’ on customer 000002. You will now see an additional
set of buttons appear below customer toolbar. This toolbar has several buttons,
which reflect the matches and can be used to filter the list even further.
For this example, we are looking for a customer which address
matches ‘55’ so we then click on the ‘Address5’ button to show only customers
that match ‘55’ in there ‘Address5’ field. As you can customer 000001 is the
only one in the list now.
